Neighborhoods are built with brick, wood and mortar. Communities are built with compassion, empathy and support.
Since ??, Pfund Construction has lent a helping hand to both, striving to make Edwardsville the best it can be for families lucky enough to call our incredible city home. Whether crafting one’s dream house from the ground up or volunteering our time to important causes, our focus on both business excellence and community involvement helps us stand apart from other construction companies.
Custom homes crafted to your specifications
When Matt Pfund started Pfund Construction in high school, he quickly learned the best foundation for a successful home building project is superior customer service. From the moment you put your dream in our hands until the day we hand over the keys, you’ll receive unmatched personal and professional attention at every step. We don’t simply coordinate work with subcontractors – as old-school builders, we drive the entire project and get down in the trenches ourselves to make sure your home lives up to every one of your expectations.
Because each dream is different and every client unique, the majority of our home construction work is entirely customized. Our extensive experience in both the commercial and residential markets have kept us on the cutting edge of technology, materials, products, and techniques, allowing us to fabricate many pieces, from banisters and mantled to sinks and cabinets, in our state-of-the-art facility. When your new home is your world, we will move heaven and earth to make it everything you pictured for your family.
Renovating downtown and beyond
The home you want isn’t confined by your front door. You want a vibrant, welcoming community that offers your family all the opportunities they desire.
Over the past few years, Pfund has played a crucial role in modernizing downtown Edwardsville while respecting its rich history. For instance, Pfund recently converted the Metcalf Building, an old theater, into six loft apartments and four retail spaces, and the historic Gaiser Building into stores and apartments, driving more locals to downtown living. In just a few short years, thanks to companies like Pfund, this once declining suburban Main Street has transformed into an urban hot spot with dining, shopping and entertainment. This rehabilitation and renovation continues to older homes as well, breathing new life into these beautiful buildings.
In addition, Matt and Kristen are active in the Edwardsville community, working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Edwardsville Community Foundation and the Main Street Community Center. In 2018, Pfund was selected as the 2017 Business of the Year for its continued work and volunteerism.
As Mayor Hal Patton remarked, Pfund “truly exemplifies that Downtown Edwardsville is a place where someone can live, learn and play.”
